Meet Katherine

Katherine Noyes is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) and Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). She started practicing yoga in 2015, and was amazed by yoga’s ability to make her body and mind feel calm, strong, and grounded. She became a certified yoga teacher in 2020, and has participated in trainings in vinyasa, restorative, adaptive, and chair yoga. She is also certified in LoveYourBrain Yoga, a research-based yoga and mindfulness program designed for people affected by brain injury. She believes that yoga can be a powerful tool both on and off the mat (or chair!), and often integrates principles of yoga and mindfulness into her speech therapy practice.

Her calm, welcoming, inclusive approach to yoga combines movement and the breath to meet you where you are and promote wellness in the body and mind.

Katherine’s dog Penny loves to join her on the mat!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How do I sign up to take a live yoga class?

Our live yoga classes are currently paused. When offered, you’ll find our live virtual yoga schedule at the top of this page. Select “Sign Up” for the class you’d like to take. Once you’ve signed up, you’ll receive a confirmation email, and an hour before the practice begins you’ll receive another email with the Google Meet link. Click here for a video tutorial.

Do I need a Google account to access your yoga classes on Google Meet?

No, you do not need a Google account to access our classes, just an email account where we can send the link for class.

Is it okay for someone else at home with me to join in on a live or recorded yoga class?

Absolutely! Family, friends (both human and furry!), and caregivers at home with you are welcome to practice with you once you’ve signed up for a class.

What does yoga and mindfulness have to do with speech therapy?

Check out our free download to learn more about how yoga and mindfulness support communication and cognitive skills.

How is your yoga unique?

Our yoga classes are designed to meet you where you are. Katherine adapts each practice to most levels and abilities, with variations and modifications offered throughout the practice. Classes will vary, but expect to feel rejuvenated and relaxed after practice. We also offer an opportunity for conversation at the end of our live group yoga classes to help cultivate community.

What do I need to practice yoga at home?

You will need: an internet connection and a device to view the practice (the bigger the screen, the better, but a smartphone will work too!). A chair (ideally without arms) for chair yoga. Yoga mats are encouraged – they are easy to find at affordable prices; otherwise you may use a nonslip rug. Yoga blocks (or books), a blanket or towel, and a bolster or pillow may be helpful props for your practice.

“Mindfulness is life-changing. It is a superpower that allows you to deliberately direct the beam of your attention instead of being tossed around by racing thoughts and turbulent emotions; to choose your mindset; and to shift how you relate to your experience, so that you have less stress and more joy.”
